June in Review

I did a little bit of shifting around in my gaming landscape last month, most notably discontinuing Lord of the Rings Online (for now) in order to pick up Age of Conan which was meh as far as I’m concerned – so I promptly dumped AoC in favor of a return to City of Villains.  EVE has been running in the background, mainly just keeping up my training there – haven’t run any missions or done any serious mining for awhile, but I can see a return to EVE in … Continue reading

Making Movies

Well I’ve been trying to put together my FSX/TileProxy/FRAPS videos together into a singular “music video” type format to upload to YouTube and all I have to say so far is that it has been somewhat of an exercise in frustration.  FSX and TileProxy work fine, FRAPS works fine, what’s being a thorn in my side is the video editing lack-ware that I’ve been trying to use – namely Windows Movie Maker (which is pretty lame) and some version of Nero that came with one of my DVD burners (and … Continue reading

OMG it’s June!

I don’t know where May went, but it sure didn’t seem to last very long.  Getting used to the new town and new job, and getting my old house sold probably had a lot to do with time seeming to fly by. Hellgate London vs. Guild Wars How many MMO’s have you played? Enter the Maelstrom of Mining My posts on … Continue reading

Gadget Quest

I’m on a quest for a gadget.  What started me on this quest was my recent exposure to Audio-Books, where I discovered that my current MP3 player  (which I got for $14.99 from geeks.com, I think) does not support WMP-DRM/Audio-Books.  What I really like about this el-cheapo mp3 player is that it does A LOT of things higher end player either don’t do, or do poorly.  a) it uses and plays from the SD-card b) you can create folders on the SD card and it will play just from that … Continue reading

Audio-Book Smack Down!

Ok, so many of you know – or may not know – since April, I’ve been working for a Library IT dept.  And the other day I thought I’d try one of the library’s audio book download services from home.  It sounds really cool on the face of it.  I could be blasting away ‘roids in EVE while a book plays in the background on my stereo – Very Cool!  Well, if it were that simple, everybody would be doing it! LOL! Actually it DOES work really well after you get … Continue reading
