Growing For Profit

So I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about how and what to try and start growing on my Mom’s land this Summer in order to make some kind of profit.  I’m still undecided.  At first I was thinking of doing ornamental and bedding plants because they seem to always be in demand – along with grafts from the various fruit trees from the existing orchard.  But I don’t think the grafts would be ready for resale until next year, and the same probably goes for getting established as a … Continue reading

Slow Weekend…

As much as I hoped to make some real headway on the packing and other moving preparations, I didn’t get hardly anything done in that arena.  I ended up reading a couple of books instead, and playing a bit of Warhammer here and there.  The books were most excellent, however. The first was a very short, but engrossing book on web “psychology,” for want of a better explanation. Neuro Web Design: What Makes Them Click?  relates many different psychological studies and how their conclusions relate to web design, and what … Continue reading

Disconcerting

Most of my books fall into just a few categories (biggest collections first): Philosophy Technical reference: System Admin/Web Admin/Programming Writing reference Gardening reference Egypt Game Theory Business Management Literature I’ve boxed up about three bookcases full so far … Continue reading

Stress Overload

With the impeding move to yet another state (from AZ to UT), I’m getting both excited and stressed out about getting everything done in time for the move (at the end of April). So in the mean time, I may not be posting here very regularly until sometime in May when things have (hopefully) settled down again. As far as gaming goes, I (finally) ditched my EVE Online accounts for now, so the only active sub. I’ve got going is for Warhammer – and I’ll probably be chopping that at the … Continue reading
