Favorite Rift Builds… so far

Being a pet kinda player, of course two of my favorite builds incorporate pets as the main benefit.  I’m still trying to figure out a good Beast Master build though – it’s the only pet based soul that I still haven’t warmed up to.  My “main” is a Necro Mage with the following souls: Necromancer (and I dump almost all of my points in here, mainly to increase pet health and damage) Warlock (mainly for the life-tap/heal over time and power tap) Dominator (I only put 3 points in transmogrify) … Continue reading

Rifting

I’ve been playing Rift for a week now and I have to say it’s one of the better MMO’s that I’ve played in quite awhile.  The PvE is definitely better than anything out there, but I haven’t played around with the PvP much, but I suspect it could be better.  What I wish it had is something more along the PvP “lakes” that Warhammer has in each of its major zones.  If you’re a PvP player, it is in the game, but you’ll have to go looking for it. March 1) Dragon Age 2 (Coming out next week, March 8 ) Dungeon Siege 3 (Due May 31) Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim (Due early November) Neverwinter 2011 (Due at the … Continue reading

Progress, of a sort

So I’ve been hitting Blender 3D pretty hard the last couple weeks and I’m starting to get where I can texture, pose, and do some rudimentary animations with existing assets (mesh, bones, dds files already made).  I was also able to get my hands on the Torque 3D Gaming engine for their amazing “come back” price of only $99. This is an amazing deal for those of you hoping to one day get into PC game making, either as a hobby or as a legitimate business.   So far, I’ve just … Continue reading

February is here

I don’t have a lot of new news to report.  I’m still looking for “a real job,” while I’m otherwise occupied trying to keep my IT skills in shape by updating my own websites, learning how to better use Flash & ActionScript, learning Blender and animation skills, etc.  I haven’t been doing much gaming at all, mainly just using Oblivion to test out my “Blender Blunders.”   I’ve also been working a bit more on my photography and writing, mainly by doing a “Picture A Day” project on my Facebook page … Continue reading
