Well I’ve got about half of the house boxed up and ready to go. I still need to pack up the computer room, master bedroom, and all of the tools/yard stuff from outside and in the garage. The “wrap every item” type stuff is all done (kitchen/breakables, knick-knack stuff, etc.), so hopefully the rest of the packing will go a bit more quickly. We’ll see. Still no real interest in the house, so I’ll probably have to enlist a realtor instead of doing the FSBO thing. In other news, I … Continue reading

I’ve been interviewing for a new job during the past week (phone interview, then in-person interview in another state) so I haven’t been keeping things very up-to-date. And today I got an offer! Woohoo! So looks like I will be moving. I report to the new job/city/state in 4-weeks, so I’m going to be ultra busy packing, moving, unpacking, getting used to a new town etc. etc. So I’m not sure how often I’ll be able to update the blog, but hopefully things will get back to some semblance of … Continue reading
Ok, I saw a video the other day of someone using Flight Simulator X and an add-on called Tileproxy that simply blew me away. So much so I went out and bought FSX and downloaded Tileproxy just to see it for myself. And I wasn’t disappointed – Simply Awesome! I’m not much for flight sims, but WOW! Tileproxy makes it so incredibly cool, I practically wet myself! LOL! After using it, I made another purchase of FRAPS, although my machine seems to be choking with all of that running at … Continue reading
Just got back from Utah for a joint birthday party at my folks’ house for my sister and me. It was her 50th and my 42nd – woohoo! It was a blast seeing everybody, even though it seems like just the other day we were all celebrating Christmas together! I took the “scenic” drive between Albuquerque and their house, which is an hour longer than the “fast” way, but far – FAR more scenic. The scenic part really doesn’t kick in until you get out of NM, though, so there’s … Continue reading
Play Hellgate! LOL! My DSL service was interrupted the other day for a considerable amount of time while Qwest was out working on their various boxes around the corner from my neighborhood (there’s like 4 green metal “boxes” nearly the size of Volkswagen’s over there). Anyways, during the “down-time” I rediscovered the single-player mode of Hellgate, which I must say I very much enjoyed. It was great to jump in and start blowing things up or cutting them to shreds. Still, it reminded me of a couple game mechanics that … Continue reading
