Music on a Theme – “Venom”

Ok, so the last time I did my “Music on a Theme” post it was about “Love Songs.” From the same cache of cassettes where I found my Love Songs tapes, there were also some that were compiled in what you might call the aftermath of love. I wouldn’t really call them “hate” songs, but definitely a bit “bitter,” to say the least. Unfortunately, none of these cassettes have dates on them, so I’ll just have to guess from the music that’s on them.  I’m pretty sure I made them all in the late 90’s or there abouts.

Venom

Next up is a tape I made specifically to annoy my neighbors in an apt. building – lots of heavy bass, solid drumming, and other annoying stuff. I had one particular upstairs neighbor in Phoenix back around 1999 and she was totally The Queen Bitch from the Alien movie series – seriously. Play it LOUD!

Obnoxious

  1. Head Like a Hole – Nine Inch Nails
  2. Aggress – Contagion
  3. Rock-N-Roll Nigger – Marilyn Manson
  4. Anarchy in the U.K. – Motley Crue
  5. Heresy – Nine Inch Nails
  6. Through The Never – Metallica
  7. Paranoid – Black Sabbath
  8. 1996 – Marilyn Manson
  9. Join In The Chant – Nitzer Ebb
  10. Sex Type Thing – Stone Temple Pilots
  11. Chemical Beats – Chemical Brothers
  12. Fuel My Fire – Prodigy
  13. Back in the Saddle – Aerosmith
  14. Shit Town – Live
  15. Skin up Pin Up – Spawn Soundtrack / Manson & 808 State
  16. Vision Thing – Sisters of Mercy
  17. I Can’t Break Away – Big Pig
  18. Hell’s Bells – AC/DC
  19. Pour Some Sugar On Me – Def Leppard
  20. Rock You Like A Hurricane – Scorpions
  21. The Outlaw Torn – Metallica

And finally – especially applicable since I officially renounced my religion this week – A recording that expresses my feelings about organized religion.

Sunday Devotional

Well that’s it for my walk down good ole’ music road.  Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

  1. True, I’m not sure if I had those songs at the time I recorded the cassette, although I’m pretty good at scarfing up Rush albums as soon as they’re released. Plus I do try to mix up the artists some – even though a ton of Metallica got in on that last recording…
