Network UP

I found a router that also had wireless, so I now have 3 systems online; my webserver, my laptop (via wireless), and my gaming machine.  Although I don’t have sound on my gaming system yet because I haven’t unpacked my speakers yet. I think that box is buried under some other stuff, but at least I think I know where it is, so that will be tonight’s project. My provider here is the cable company, whereas in NM I had DSL.  One thing I’ve noticed is that DSL was “always … Continue reading

Home… Sort of…

Well, I made it to Prescott, AZ in one piece, and so did most of everything else.  I’ll know better on that as the week progresses as I’m only about 10% unpacked so far and navigating many stacks of boxes throughout the apt.   I just got my cable internet connection up and running today, although I still only have access through one ethernet cable as I haven’t found my routers/switches yet.  I’ve found lots of CAT-5 cable, but no routers 🙁  Once I find at least one of my 6-7 … Continue reading

Panic Mode Achieved!

Freak Out Mode Achieved

Well, I’m two weeks away from my “report date” at my new job in a new town and a week away from my planned moving day.  Things seem to be progressing well, but I’m still nervous as hell.  I got the uhaul reserved, enlisted a realtor to sell the house, and I’ve got an application in for an apt. in Prescott. So hopefully things will all pan out.  Money is the scary thing – it’s going to be very, very tight.  Plus the fact that after starting a new job, … Continue reading
