Well, I’m two weeks away from my “report date” at my new job in a new town and a week away from my planned moving day. Things seem to be progressing well, but I’m still nervous as hell. I got the uhaul reserved, enlisted a realtor to sell the house, and I’ve got an application in for an apt. in Prescott. So hopefully things will all pan out. Money is the scary thing – it’s going to be very, very tight. Plus the fact that after starting a new job, you sometimes don’t get your first paycheck until 3-weeks after your start date – bleh…
Just the move (Uhaul+gas) is going to cost over $700, and then there’s the “move-in-fees,” which total somewhere near $1,300 – so there’s $2000 right there, not to mention all the hook-up fees and crap I’ll have to do once I get in the new place, plus the final billings from the old house – ugh, it’s adding up way faster than I care to calculate. If I could just sell my coin-op air hockey table, I’d easily be able to swing everything, but not even a nibble from CraigsList on that – ugh. Of course, if I sold the house before I left that would be even better! 😛
Needless to say, I haven’t been gaming at all lately, just packing, stressing, calling and fax’ing, stressing some more, packing… I also need to do some serious cleaning around the house as well, but I feel like I need to be near totally packed before I start that project. I’ve got all my misc. stuff moved into one room to be packed. Things that didn’t naturally fall in with everything else while it was being packed – a coat here, a couple books I missed when doing the bookcases, a doo-dad there, etc. Just a bunch of unrelated misc stuff. That and the bedroom – I gotta figure out what clothes I need “immediately” and what can be boxed up for awhile before I unpack. Still have most of the bedroom, master bath, and garage to go through. Oy! And I gotta be done by Friday when I pick up the U-Haul – it’ll be a nail biter to say the least, not withstanding the funding issues, LOL!
Hope things are going great in your world! Damn, just noticed there isn’t a spell checker in this new-fangled control panel WP implemented – at least I don’t see it anymore. Darn. Oh well, you’re all gonna hafta get used to my awful spelling now…
