Making A Tarot Deck

NOTE: I’ve tried making a YouTube style video to illustrate this process a little better, but it ended up being over 30 minutes long, and my voice is not really pleasant to listen to, LOL. So what I think I’ll try to do is break it down into smaller chunks of video and maybe take some serious allergy pills so I’m not quite so “nasally” sounding – OY!  I’ve made my own tarot cards before and it worked out really well – after working through some not-so-great prototypes. So I thought I’d … Continue reading

Marco Leaves “The Church™” (LDS)

Actually I made this request once before many, many years ago as part of a “Queer Nation” demonstration, but since it didn’t have all of the particulars (like baptism date, confirmation date, etc. etc.) “The Church™”  didn’t honor the request.  And I move around a lot, so the LDS gremlins (aka “Visiting Teachers”) haven’t been able to keep up with me – I hadn’t seen one of those vultures in over 15 years.  And then one fine day was ruined when a few years back they “somehow” found out where … Continue reading

Music on a Theme – “Love”

I’ve always been one of those folks that arranges musical recordings based on a theme.  I was going through a bunch of my old audio cassettes (anybody remember those?), and found a  box of 15 “themed” cassettes.  They’re all “emotionally” themed works, with titles like: Venom, Nostalgic, Love Songs, etc. I’ll probably make it a project to replicate all of these into WMP “play lists” eventually.  I think I already did it for a pair of cassettes I recorded featuring Annie Lennox/The Eurythmics; One called Love, & the other called … Continue reading

My Thanksgiving In Retrospect

Well I had a great thanksgiving visiting my folks and family.  It’s a 600mi trek, but it’s a nice drive through scenic Southern Utah and seeing the relatives is always fun.  There were a few faux pas… My oldest sister wasn’t able to make it because she had gotten sick at school this week (she’s an Elementary School Teacher.) So that was kind of a bummer – especially since we get along with each other quite well.  Hopefully I will see her at Christmastime later this year. I’m planning to … Continue reading

Requiem for a Gay Man

Over the course of the last couple of years I’ve been pulling together music from my collection to create a “Requiem for a Gay Man.” I’m not really sure why I started this project, I think I was getting nostalgic and sentimental about some of the folks I’ve known and lost over the years. Knowing I myself didn’t want to have a “traditional christian” style funeral – esp. since I’m an atheist and about as non-traditional as you can get when it comes to religious stuff, I wanted something uniquely … Continue reading
