I”m not sure what it is that’s going around, maybe my wallet has the swine flu or something, but I’ve been buying some interesting, eclectic, or just downright odd things lately. Of course at the expense of practical things I probably SHOULD be spending money on… like tires. I just got my Saitek “Cyborg” keyboard today, and I really like it. The keys are WAY better than my old Logitech keyboard – which was just a plain-jane black keyboard. I really like the lighting effects and all of the other bells and whistles that … Continue reading
I’ve actually been thinking about doing something like this (associating songs to Tarot cards) for awhile now. I think my first notes on the subject come from sometime last year, and since reading through the Thursday Night Tarot, I’ve been inspired to take up the project again. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far. This is just a “first draft,” so to speak, so it will probably change quite a bit from any “final version” I eventually work out… The Fool (alternate) [Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (alt: Windy) Magician (Magic Man) … Continue reading
Mainly I’ve been reading a great book about the Tarot for the past few days called “The Thursday Night Tarot.” It’s really resonating for me because unlike a lot of other “new agey” stuff, this book comes off with a lot of self reliance and responsibility. It’s not God’s fault, it’s not your parents’ fault, … Continue reading
Wow, April’s done and gone! This year just seems to be on hyperdrive for me! I guess it’s the hectic work schedule that’s keeping me from noticing much else. I was planning on blogging about a few other topics that I’ve had bouncing about my brain lately, but maybe I’ll try to get those things down over the weekend. Mainly I was hoping to share some thoughts about a book that I’ve been reading lately about the Tarot. Also recent experiences with Joomla and the lack of decent books about … Continue reading
So it started out a pretty nice day today and I wanted to go get some plants for my empty planter boxes. Being in an apartment has really curbed my gardening, but I do have about five or six of those 3′ plastic planter boxes to try and bring a little bit of greenery into my existence. My shopping list included quite a few herbs, some showy flowers, and some scented flowers: Rosemary Thymes (various types) Lavenders (various types) Mints (various types, esp. chocolate, spearmint, and apple) Creeping Verbenas Geraniums (pelargoniums, … Continue reading
