Mainly I’ve been reading a great book about the Tarot for the past few days called “The Thursday Night Tarot.” It’s really resonating for me because unlike a lot of other “new agey” stuff, this book comes off with a lot of self reliance and responsibility. Basically the jist of the book is, if you’re not getting what you want out of life, either you’re not trying hard enough, or you’re not being honest with yourself about what you really want.
It’s not God’s fault, it’s not your parents’ fault, it’s not Karma’s fault, etc. etc. It means you aren’t working hard enough for what you want, and it IS work! No waving magic wands here! Basically very sound, practical advice without all the hooey you (and I) would normally expect from an “occult” source. Anyways, it’s been a great read so far.
I noticed today on my way into the house from my afternoon walk that some of the vine seeds I planted last weekend are already sprouting. I’m not sure which ones they are; I planted Sweet Peas, Moon Flower Vine, Morning Glory, Alamo Vine, and Rosary Peas. They’re dispersed among two pots that are nestled in two central tiers of a 5-foot tall, 1-foot square, iron trellis like obelisk. I’m hoping it will be quite stunning when all is in bloom. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I haven’t been gaming much, but I did take a peek in on Warhammer and got my Magus up to level 23. I’m hoping to get him to 25 sometime today so that he can wear some pretty awesome goodies that my level 30 squig herder sent his way. I also did a quick check-in on my EVE toons, and they’re still 20-some-odd days away from completing their training queues, so all is well there.
Work is still busy as all get out, but I did manage to get some time off around the upcoming Memorial Day holiday. We were hoping that Dad’s gravestone would be in place by then. One of his good friends was having a custom stone crafted, but last week when he went to check on it they had used a stone that was too small for the design, so they had to start over. Oh well, it will be very nice once it gets done, even if it isn’t in time for Memorial Day.
