Well I’m back from my Xmas travels and I gave a lot of music this year which got me to thinking about music in LotRO; and why some of the “old” classics haven’t been ported over. Most are very simple, catchy tunes that should port very well over to the ABC music format that LotRO uses. As the holidays quickly approach I’m desperately trying to get things all wrapped up before heading to my folks house for Christmas. I -finally- got my cell modem working yesterday. An XP service that monitors your modem connections had been disabled for some reason, but as soon as I got that turned back on, everything started working. Lord of the Rings Online is one of the better MMO’s I’ve played in a long time. However as my character grows I’m starting to notice a few annoying things that would be super simple to remedy. Uniform “taxi-horse” pricing. Either 5 silver or free, across the board. Those 15 Silver rides are damn expensive and often hinge upon questions like “If I buy this 15 silver ride, will I be able to afford my next training session?” Not good… Low-Level Mounts. My foray into Middle-Earth is going well and I’m still really enjoying Lord of The Rings Online. Even after 3 server changes due to guild indecision – 1st server was Nimrodel, which we abandoned for Landroval due to population issues (The guild didn’t feel there were enough people on Nimrodel). Ok, I’ve been playing Lord of the Rings Online for a week or so and thought I’d share my thoughts on the game. It’s definitely shaping up as one of Turbine’s better offerings of late. With LOTRO we’ve got most of the beauty of AC2, and much better game-play than either AC2 or DDO. On the “ease of entry” curve, it’s somewhere in the middle.
