Month In Review

Oy, I can’t believe January is already done with.  It’s been a hectic month for me at work so I haven’t been gaming nor blogging nearly as much as I would’ve liked to.  Been burning the midnight oil (and beyond) for a couple weeks now  trying to get a project ready for “prime-time” by next week – no fun! In the gaming arena, I re-subscribed my EVE accounts – mainly to get my mining ‘toon into a Hulk, and my military ‘toon up to a point where he can use … Continue reading

EVE revisited

I’ve been back in EVE online for a few days now and I’m starting to remember why I left last Fall.  Mining is oh-so-boring, and I don’t really have the skillz to do decent mission running – AND while CCP gives you the illusion of having multiple characters, you can’t actually DO anything with those extra character slots because you can only have one character in training at a time – GRR!  Reminding me why, way back when, I accused CCP of highway robbery  – here they are charging their … Continue reading

Non-Mystical Mysticism

This is  a difficult topic to write about – not so much in that it’s controversial or just plain bizarre – which it may be, but it’s difficult to explain it in a way so that it doesn’t sound quite as odd as most people would probably think it sounds – ok, well I’m not making much sense anyways, so here goes.  First of all, for any of this to make any kind of sense you have to have a good background in Occultism (esp. Hermeticism), Philosophy (esp. Objectivism), Cosmology … Continue reading

Enter the Maelstrom of Mining

Oy, I can’t believe I re-subscribed to EVE Online, hehe, and to do mining of all things – LOL!  Honestly though, I went right into mining because that’s how I left all my rigs set-up and it’s familiar territory to get me back into the game. So I’m dual-boxing as well, here’s what I’ve got for a set-up so far: Main “Miner” is Orobas, Amarr/Ni-Kunni Retriever Mining Barge w/ 2 Strip-Miner II’s, Cap Battery I, and 2 Co-Processor I’s, and 5 HobGob’s This guy’s main training is in Industry with: Industry-5, … Continue reading

The Next Big Thing

I just finished watching a re-run of the Charlie Rose show where he was speaking with a reporter from the New Yorker, Ken Auletta, about the future of technology. It was kind of interesting, Ken definitely had a better grasp on the topic than Charlie did.  One comment in particular really caught me funny.  They had been discussing the prospect of Google entering into the wireless/cellular spectrum and charlie said something to the effect, “…since when has advertising worked on a cell-phone.”  Clearly missing the point – Google wouldn’t be … Continue reading
