Picture Post

Just a test to see if I can get pics to work the way I expect them to here on WordPress.

Armageddon/Rocketeerrocketeer

These pics should be “side-by-side” … well, I guess they’re too big to be side-by-side, but at least it didn’t screw up the Blog’s homepage.  Next test, with captions this time:

Hey! They look kinda like rocks now!

Hey! They look kinda like rocks now!

This looks odd in the editor…but it looks ok in the actual posting, so I’ll run with it. Next let’s try centering and see if it messes up the rest of the formatting:

Typhoon/"Doomsday"

Typhoon/"Doomsday"

Scorpion/"Blackout"

Scorpion/"Blackout"

Now did that mess up this text’s alignment? Nope!  Hmm, well I dunno what I did differently the first time around, but it all seems to be working now.  I think I may have tried to force some pics to display side-by-side and that messed things up, but who knows!?   Now let’s try some link-age.  Hmm.  First try just links to a thumbnail.  Ah-Ha!  it’s not a thumbnail, WP is forcing it to a particular width, let’s just edit that out of the linking URL and…. NICE! Full size image!

Ok, well I think I now have the hang of posting/embedding images in my blog.  The original went something along the lines of noting how the Armageddon looks A LOT like the Rocketeer, and so I named my ‘geddon “Rocketeer.”  Then I went on to note that in my file of EVE screenies, I noticed that the Styrofoam ball asteroids were as recent as Feb of this year [2009], and that Apocrypha must’ve been the patch that improved their looks.  Then I lamented that I didn’t yet have a decent capture of my Typhoon – which I thought looked similar to the “Doomsday Machine” from ST:TOS (hence naming my ship “Doomsday”), but I’d post a “hum-drum” picture of it anyway along with my Scorpion (named “Blackout” with the double-entendre; the Scorpions album of the same name and that it’s a ship made to shut down another ships electronics via E-WAR) since both of those ships along with the ‘geddon had been the topic of a recent post about tri-boxing battleships…  So there you have it!

Oh well, I hope your weekend shapes up to be wonderful! Enjoy!
